Some spaces in a home just become obsolete and that was the case in this home. The original home had an underutilized 3 season porch that was a barrier to the outdoor entertaining space and had a flat rubber roof that was prone to leaking. At the same time the original kitchen was a dysfunctional, by today’s standards, galley style design. By removing a structural exterior wall and combining the 3 season porch and galley kitchen we transfigured this space into a chef’s dream kitchen! In addition to that update the traffic flow of the first floor was modified to include circular traffic flow and much better access to the charming knotty pine paneled den which previously was remote to the rest of the first floor.
